Why it is difficult to change beliefs and thought patterns

If you have a habit such as smoking and it’s harming you,

you will conjure up all the willpower to beat that addiction.

However, if it is a toxic belief or a thought pattern,

you will try to justify it with all kinds of reasons.

Do you know why?

Because an addiction harms you and might reduce your lifespan.

A toxic belief or a thought pattern, well, it might harm others but it does not harm you. or at least you don’t see it.

Perhaps when this toxic pattern will harm you in some way, that will be the day you change your beliefs or thought patterns.
